The department confers distinction based on senior thesis (432) and department work. Students who study on programs other than that of Colorado College must take, in addition to 431 and 432, at least two courses beyond 306 as well as complete the detailed major requirements above. Only two credits from any unaffiliated program abroad will be accepted into the major.

MAJOR: Students who study on programs other than that of Colorado College must take, in addition to 431 and 432, at least two courses beyond 306 as well as complete the detailed major requirements above. Only 2 credits from any non-CC-led program off-campus will be accepted into the major (including CC-approved programs, and CC-approved petitions). All courses must be pre-approved in advance via Summit by the department chair.
MINOR: The same policy as for majors applies, but only 1 credit from a non-CC program can go towards the minor. All courses must be pre-approved in advance via Summit by the department chair.
